GEORGE BLANSETT FORMER YARRELTON BLACKSMITH, DIES
Funeral services for George W. Blansett, age 90, were held Wednesday at 3 p. m. at Green Funeral Home, with Rev. J. A. Harvey officiating. Burial was in North Elm Cemetery.
Blansett, known as Uncle George to his friends, was a retired farmer and local blacksmith in Yarrelton Community.
He came to Yarrelton from Alabama when he was about 20 and made his home there until eleven years ago when he moved to Arlington. He was the official host to visitors at the Masonic Home in Arlington.
Surviving are three sons, Walter Blansett of Baytown, Jerry Blansett of Houston and Marion Blansett of Beaumont; one daughter, Mrs. William G. Lock of Rt. 2, Rogers, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Drake of Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Phoebe Wade of Fort Worth.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
