- Obituary: RUBY LEE BLOCKER IS BURIED AT NORTH ELM Ruby Lee Blocker, 20, a former resident of the North Elm community died at her home in Marlin Sunday afternoon, March 29, 1942. Miss Blocker had been ill for only a few hours and her death was unexpected. She became ill Saturday. Her health had not been good for several years. Funeral services were held from the North Elm Church at 3:00 p.m. Monday with the interment in the North Elm cemetery, the Green Funeral Home in Cameron directing arrangements and John W. Haygood of Cameron delivering the funeral sermon. Miss Blocker was born in the North Elm community on January 8, 1922. The family moved to Marlin several years ago and have made their home there since. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Blocker, 3 brothers and 3 sisters as follows: Oscar, R. L. Jr., and Chas. Blocker, Misses Ortie, Annie Mae and Thelma Ray Blocker, all of whom reside at the home in Marlin. The Cameron Herald 09 Apr 1942

- Obituary: FUNERAL SERVICES HELD AT BEN ARHOLD FOR MRS. C. BOEKER Funeral services for Mrs. C. A. Boeker, 81, were held at 2 p. m. at the United Evangelical and Reformed Church at Ben Arnold Wednesday, March 31 with Rev. Albert Petrich, pastor, officiating. Burial was made in North Elm Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Mrs. Boeker died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edgar Hatterman at 4:40 a. m. Tuesday in Los Angeles, Texas, after an illness of four years. She was born in Washington county October 8, 1872. Mrs. Boeker lived in Milam County for 40 years, and for the past twelve years, has been a resident of Los Angeles, Texas. Survivors include three sons, Oscar Boeker of Los Angeles, and Lee Boeker of LaMarque; three daughters, Mrs. R. H. Shulz of San Antonio, Mrs. Paul Baring of Jourdanton and Mrs. Edgar Hatterman of Los Angeles, Texas. She is also survived by two brothers, Leo Boedeker and T. Texas, Rufus Boeker of Brady, H. Boedeker of Plainview; two half brothers, Robert Boedeker of Gay Hill and Adolph Boedeker of Brenham; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Nuerdieck of Sagerton, Mrs. Clara Morgenthaler of Mart and Mrs. Andrew Habel of Gay Hill; and two half sisters, Mrs. Walter Muery and Mrs. Willie Green, both of Gay Hill.
