INITA JOHNSON COPENHAVER
Inita Johnson Copenhaver, 92, of Daingerfield, left this world to be greeted in heaven by her Lord and Savior, on Dec. 22, 2010. “Precious in the sight of God is the death of his Saints.Ã¢â‚¬ï† (Psalm 116:15). Inita was born Jan. 29, 1918, in Clarkston, Texas.
Others to greet her were her parents, Jack and Amanda Johnson, brothers, Bud and Roy Johnson, sisters, Jewel Raney and Mable Fuller and the love of her life, husband George W. Copenhaver.
Inita loved being with her family. She enjoyed cooking, playing games, sewing, fishing and laughing. Variety was the spice of her life. She was quite the entrepreneur having owned a dry cleaners, a restaurant, a convenience store, and a boutique. Inita earned her beauticians license while in her 50s and opened her own beauty shop in Sayre, Okla. She lived her life to the fullest.
She is survived by her son Bobby Gandy and wife Bobbie of Hughes Spring, Texas, daughters Pat Allan and Jimmy of Freeport, and Amanda Ellison and husband David of Hughes Spring, grandsons Bobby Fuller of Clute, Clinton Gandy of Gladewater, Robert Ellison of Hughes Springs, Ensign Bart Ellison, of San Diego, granddaughters, Carla Gandy of Gladewater, Jamie Gay, of Lake Jackson, great-grandchildren, Jenny Fuller Broaddus, of Beaumont, Jonathan Gay, of Lake Jackson, and Cooper Ellison of Hughes Spring, and three great-great-granddaughters, Brynn Lee of Normandy and Jewel Broaddus of Beaumont.
The family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to the compassionate and caring staff of Windsor Place in Daingerfield, and to Dr. Mitchell.
A graveside service to celebrate Initas life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, at the North Elm Cemetery outside Cameron, with her grandson, the Rev. Bobby Fuller, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association, ww.alz.org.
Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
