- Obituary: JESSE ARMSTRONG Jesse [Jesse] Armstrong, 68, of Texas City died Monday in a Galveston hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1907 in Franklin and was a retired captain in the U. S. Army. Funeral service will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in the chapel of Green Funeral Home in Cameron with burial in the North Elm Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Millie Armstrong of Texas City; his mother, Mrs. Audie Winston of Texas City; one daughter, Mrs. Wynell Young of Texas City; two brothers, Sam Armstrong of Bay City and W.
