• Obituary: Ernest Dee Wayne “Butchâ€ï† Upchurch, 63, of Belton, died Friday, June 15 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the North Elm Cemetery near Cameron. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Upchurch, a truck driver, was born August 11, 1948 in Eldorado, Illinois to Wayne Willis and Sammie Louise (Cozart) Upchurch. He married Susan Tucker on July 16, 1985. Survivors include: His wife Susan Upchurch of Belton Sons Ernest Upchurch of Austin Edward Upchurch of Temple Robert Upchurch of Belton Ryan Upchurch of Belton Daughters Sammie Upchurch of Moody Theresa Cortez of Dallas Sister Dora Campbell of Oxford, Indiana 4 grandchildren

• Obituary: Milush Kostiha, 85, of the North Elm Community of Milam County, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Dr. Don Lynn officiating. Burial will follow in the North Elm Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Kostiha, a farmer, was born June 19, 1928 in the Pettibone community to Joseph and Bertha (Krenek) Kostiha. He married Dolores Jane Sawyer in 1974 and she preceded him in death in 1994. Mr. Kostiha retired from Milam County and had served in the Army National Guard. 4 brothers and 1 sister also preceded him in death. • Obituary: Glinda K. Harbison, devoted wife, mother and daughter went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 28, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Milne and Rev. Ron Winsman officiating. Burial will follow at North Elm Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 8:00 PM Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. Harbison was born September 30, 1950 in Temple to Bruce E. and Maye Lock Rea. She graduated from Temple High School and attended Temple College. She married Bert Harbison on July 22, 1990. Glinda served on staff at Immanuel Baptist Church for 24 years. During her tenure, she served as childrens minister for 17 years. Other staff positions she held were hospitality ministry, bereavement coordinator, heritage committee, food pantry, feeding the hungry and Wednesday night supper. She also sponsored and coordinated R.A.s and G.A.s. Glinda had a heart for missions and soon founded Operation Christmas Child of Franklin Grahams Samaritans Purse. Glinda loved Christmas and was captivated by the idea of packing a shoe box for a child and the importance that it would have on a childs life. Through her leadership at Immanuel Baptist Church, Glinda soon became area coordinator for Operation Christmas Child and Immanuel Baptist Church became a collection center through her work. Since the beginning of the organization, thousands of boxes have been sent to children throughout the world, and have heard the gospel for the first time, many of whom received Christ. Glinda also served as president of North Elm Cemetery Association in Milam county for 19 years. Glindas hearts desire was to faithfully serve the Lord and glorify Him in her service at Immanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce E. Rea, Sr. and her sister, Virginia Ann McIntosh. Survivors include her husband, Bert Harbison of Temple, her mother, Maye Rea of Temple, daughter, Amy Harbison and grandson, Malachi Lee Harbison both of Belton. Glinda is also survived by a brother, Charles W. Rea and wife, Mary of Temple and their children, Allan Rea and wife Sandy and their children, Megan, Miranda, Koby & Kelley; Tressa Besserman and husband Harold and their children, Brett, Jessika and her daughter Mackenna, Rebecca and her daughter Aleah; Angie Mainer and husband Eddie and their children, Trinity and Dominic. She is also survived by a brother Bruce E. Rea, Jr. and wife, Anna of Temple and their children, Scott Thornal and his children, Chase, Chevolet, David, Chasity and Barrett, Krystal Amos and her children, Ginger and Damon; her mother-in-law, Frances Harbison, sister-in-law, Leah Harbison both of Temple and brother-in-law, Ronnie McIntosh of Belton. • Obituary: Florine Fuchs Barrett Florine Barrett, 99, of Cameron, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, in a Temple hospital. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Friday, in North Elm Cemetery with Rev. Jim Lafferty officiating. Florine, a homemaker, was born in Buckholts, Texas, to the late Paul and Emma Fuchs. She married Barbee Barrett in 1939 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron. She was preceded in death by a son, Danna Barrett; a brother; and two sisters. Survivors include her husband, Barbee Barrett, of Cameron; son, Norvell Barrett, of Houston; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
