JOE F. GIBBS RITES HELD SATURDAY Joe F. Gibbs, 74, well known citizen of the Yarrellton Community, died at the St. Edwards Hospital, Friday morning January 5, 1951. Mr. Gibbs who has been in declining health for a number of years was taken to the hospital Thursday when his condition became critical. He was a native of Newton, Mississippi and came to Texas as a young man and had lived in the Yarrellton Community most of his life. He was well known in the city of Cameron and was often a visitor here until recent months. He was a farmer and very active in his favorite occupation until recent years when his health prevented his continuation in farming. Funeral services were to be held at the Yarrellton Baptist Church Saturday January 6, at 2:30 P. M. with R. L. South, pastor, conducting. Interment will be in the North Elm cemetery with Marek-Burns Funeral Home making the arrangements. The body will remain at the Marek-Burns Funeral Home until the funeral hour. Surviving are one son Jesse Gibbs of North Elm, five daughters: Mrs. R. L. Bostic of McDade, Mrs. Frank Blasek of Caldwell, Mrs. L. O. Gilbert of Baytown, Mrs. Clyde Horton of Beaumont and Mrs. James Fuller of Rockdale; two brothers: C. T. Gibbs of Bay City and P. D. Gibbs of Newton, Mississippi. Seven grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers are as follows: Frank Barrett, J. M. Terry, John Lott, Jim Mann, Joe Ford, and Euell Russell.
