  • Obituary: VERNON ANDREW ADAMS Vernon Andrew Adams, 82, died Friday in a local hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p. m. at the Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Ernest L. Helsley officiating. Burial was in North Elm Cemetery. Mr. Adams was born in Stephenville, and was a retired school teacher and coach. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cameron. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kate Adams of Cameron; one brother, John Adams of Phoenix, Arizona; and three sisters, Mrs. Estelle Anderson of Stephenville, Mrs. Swan Casey of Auburn, California and Mrs. Amma Dare Foster of Walnut, California.
