  • Obituary: FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MILAM COUNTY PIONEER R. C. Matthews, 86, died at St. Edwards Hospital Tuesday, March 7, 1950, after a short illness. Mr. Matthews was a long time resident of Milam County and had lived the major portion of his life in the Yarrellton Community. He was a retired farmer. His survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Bart Matthews of Salinas, California and Mrs. Frank Griffin and Mrs. A. C. Griffin both of Yarrellton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. P. L. Capterton, Baptist minister, at the Chapel of Greens Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 8, at 2:30 p. m. Burial will be made in the North Elm cemetery with Greens Funeral Home making the arrangements.
