  • Obituary: T. W. ALLEN DIES IN HOUSTON LATE THURSDAY T. W. Allen, 65, former resident at Buckholts and a native Texan, died at 9 a. m. Thursday in the Heights Hospital in Houston, from a paralytic stroke. He had been in ill health for several years and for the past 4 months had made his home in Houston. Prior to that time the family lived in Buckholts. Mr. Allen was born at Nacogdoches. The body will arrive in Temple early Saturday and will be taken by hearse to the North Elm Cemetery where funeral services will be held in the church there at 2:30 p. m. Saturday with Rev. Lamar Hocker, pastor of the First Christian Church in Cameron conducting the services. Mrs. Allen, widow, survives with 10 children, 8 boys and two girls as follows: Temple Allen, Camp Crowder, Mo., Ernest Allen of Fort Worth, Crockett and Clarence Allen of Dallas, I. B. Allen of Temple, Fred Allen, graduate of Yoe High School and a star back on the Yoemen team and now in California, Elbert Allen and Harrell Allen of Houston. Mrs. Barnard of New York and Miss Katherine Allen of Houston, are the surviving daughters. One sister Mrs. Taylor of Dallas survives. The Cameron Herald, 6 Aug 1942
