J. E. PHARRIES BURIED MONDAY AT NORTH ELM J. E. Pharries, 76, of Gause died Sunday morning at 1 a. m. August 7. Mr. Pharries who had been ill for some time and whose condition became critical Sunday passed away in the Newton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Pharries was born August 24, 1873 in Pyton, Indiana but had lived in Milam County since a young man and was well known in Cameron and surrounding communities. Funeral services were to be held from the Marek-Burns Chapel at 5 P. M. Monday with Rev. Russell Lovell, pastor of the Milano Baptist Church conducting the services. Burial to be made to the North Elm Cemetery with Marek-Burns directing arrangements. Surviving are his widow Mrs. Della Pharries of Gause; one son W. E. Pharries of Hearne; Six daughters, Mrs. Will Lake of Cameron, Mrs. F. D. Fowler of Gause, Mrs. Nell Walston of Branchville, Mrs. Hattie Edgin of Texas City, Mrs. G. W. Miller of Houston and Mrs. Edd Denman of Longview. Twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers were: Alton Fowler, Virgil Lake, Clarence Walston, Bill Pharries, Jr., Giles Burnett and Vernon Angell. The Cameron Herald, 10 Aug 1950
