  • Obituary: MRS. JENNIE L. RICE Mrs. Jennie L. Rice, 85, of 101 N. College St., Cameron, died Sunday morning in a local hospital following a short illness. Funeral was at 3 p. m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Cameron with Rev. James Lafferty officiating. Burial was in the North Elm Cemetery. Mrs. Rice was born December 2, 1892 in Montgomery County, the daughter of John Ford Hurry and Maggie Smith Hurry. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, the Cameron chapter Order of the Easter Star No. 553, and the Zobar Temple No. 65, Daughters of the Nile of Wichita, Kansas. She had been a resident of Cameron for the past 25 years. Surviving are four sons, Gus F. Knight of Pasadena, Charles Knight of Scottsdale, Ariz., Doyle Rice of Houston and Oxsheer Rice of Ben Arnold; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jeanette Kelly of Hemet, Calif., and Mrs. Agnes Jones of Wichita, Kans.; 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Austin. Memorial gifts may be made to the Cameron Community Hospital through the First National Bank at Cameron. Green Funeral Home in Cameron was in charge. The Cameron Herald, 3 Aug 1978
