  • Obituary: MURRELL CHARLES TUCKER Funeral Services will be held today for Murrell Tucker, 77, of Cameron, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. James E. Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in the North Elm Cemetery near Yarrellton. He died Jan. 10, in a Temple hospital. Mr. Tucker was born May 17, 1922 in Thorndale to Walter H. and Maggie Caffey Tucker. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation where he worked in the highway maintenance department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Tucker in 1992 and by three brothers, Teenie Tucker, Doolie Tucker and Bowie Tucker. Survivors include two sons, David Tucker of Garfield and Jeff Tucker of Cameron; one daughter, Susan Upchurch of Belton; four brothers, Howard Tucker, James "Red" Tucker and Ray Tucker, all of Cameron, and Johnnie Tucker of Enid, Ok.; three sisters, Sudie Cass of Cameron and Verlie Ashley, both of Cameron, and Mary Ruth Vybiral of Caldwell. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of donor's choice. Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
