MARVIN JONES GRIFFIN Marvin Jones Griffin, 78, of Alvarado and formerly of Milam County, died of cancer Nov. 16 at a Cleburne nursing home. The Rev. Chuck Barnard officiated at a memorial service Nov. 20 in Cleburn. Burial followed in the North Elm Cemetery near Cameron. Griffin was born Feb. 4, 1923, near Cameron. He graduated from Buckholts High School and farmed with his mother and father. After his fathers death, he and his mother moved to Arlington and lived there for several years. He worked for the Arlington school district as a custodian before retiring to Alvarado. He was a member of the Greenbriar Baptist Church. He is survived by his brother Zack Griffin of Alvarado and several nieces and nephews. If desired, memorials may be given to hospice or to Greenbriar Baptist Church. Cameron Herald, 22 Nov 2001
