  • Obituary: Barbee Barrett Barbee Barrett, 98, of Cameron, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, in a Cameron nursing facility. Graveside services will be 11 a. m. Monday, Sept. 15 at North Elm Cemetery with Rev. James T. Wheeless officiating. Mr. Barrett, a lifelong rancher and farmer, was born March 7, 1916 in Milam County to Coley and Jennie (Polley) Barrett. He married Florine Fuchs in 1939 and she preceded him in death in 2013. He was a lifelong Baptist having had memberships at the Yarrellton Baptist Church and then the First Baptist Church in Cameron. He had been a member of San Andres Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. Two brothers, Ed and John also preceded him in death. He is survived by son, Norvell Barrett of Houston, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements. Cameron Herald, September 18, 2014
