  • Obituary: ELBY GLENN FIKES Memorial services for Elby Glenn Fikes, age 75 of Oregon and formerly of Cameron, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Pastor Brett Bird officiating. His cremains will be interred following the service at North Elm Cemetery near Cameron. Mr. Fikes died Monday, Dec. 5th at the home of his daughter in Oregon. He was born in Cameron, the son of Charles Raymond and Minnie Lee Fikes. Two brothers, Stanley and Robert Fikes preceded him in death. Survivors include daughters Donna Yvette Fikes McLeary and husband Phillip and Lisa Renae Fikes DeLong and husband Jeff; three grandsons, Brett Bird, Nicholas Fikes and Austin Alderete; and one great grandson, Jackson Bird.
