  • Obituary: HELEN HAIRSTON Helen Hairston, 84, of Rockdale died Nov. 4 in a Rockdale hospital. Funeral services were held Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Jeff Loudin officiating. Burial will follow in the North Elm Cemetery near Cameron. Hairston was born Oct. 1, 1923 in Milam County to Cecil and Mae (Fuller) Stevens. She retired from Texas Instruments. She was preceded in death by her son, James Hairston, brother, Denson Stevens, and sisters, Corene Little, and Joan Bumbera. Survivors include her sons, Stanley Hairston and wife, Connie, of Rockdale and Rick Hairston and wife, Barbara, of Temple; brothers, Jesse Stevens of Houston and Johnny Stevens and wife, June, of Cleveland; sisters Joy Black of Cameron, Doris Moody of Minerva, and Betty Stevens of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren, Brad Hairston and Stone Hairston of Rockdale, David Hairston of Amarillo, Chad Hairston of Temple, Michael Hairston of Dallas, Shane Hairston and Shannon Hairston of Terrell, Tiffany Triolo and husband, Donmichael, of Calvert, Dinah Hairston of Denton, Debbie Renner and husband, Michael of Denton and Lauren Sebesta and husband, Steve, of Temple; and 13 great grandchildren The Cameron Herald 8 Nov 2007
