HELEN MCFARLAND Helen McFarland, 86, of Temple died Saturday, April 28, in a Temple hospital. Graveside funeral services were held May 1 at the North Elm Cemetery near Cameron with Rev. Jim Lafferty officiating. Visitation was held Monday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Mrs. McFarland, a homemaker, was born Feb. 16, 1926 in Lubbock to Thomas and Annie (Dobbs) Richards. She married Earl McFarland and he preceded her in death in 1990. Her daughter, Charlotte Ann Wade also preceded her in death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by two sisters. Survivors include her son Douglas McFarland of Lott, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
