Friday at the Yarrellton Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Woolery officiating. Burial was in the North Elm Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, J. A. Mann of Route 2, Buckholts; two sisters, Mrs. M. - Obituary: ALVIS G. MANNING TO BE BURIED ON TUESDAY Funeral services for Seaman 2nd Class, Alvis G. Manning, 21, will be held Tuesday afternoon, January 25, 1944, at 4 oclock from the Church of Christ in Cameron. The funeral will be a military arrangement with the Green Funeral Home in Cameron directing arrangements. He died in a Plainview hospital Sunday morning, January 23, 1944. The cause of his death was unknown. Manning had been in Cameron to visit his wife, the former Miss Helen Barrett of Yarrellton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Barrett. On the way back to his post with the navy he stopped in Plainview to visit with his parents, according to information received by The Herald. He is survived by his widow and one daughter K. Carolyn.
