- Obituary: FUNERAL SERVICES FOR OSCAR L. SMITH WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY Oscar L. Smith, 61, a Milam County resident for many years, died at 3:00 a. m. Thursday morning. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p. m. Friday at the South Elm Baptist Church with Rev. U. S. Luckey of Zavalla, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in North Elm Cemetery, with graveside services conducted by the Yarrellton Masonic Lodge. Greens Funeral Directors are making the arrangements. The body will remain at the family residence at South Elm until the funeral hour. Mr. Smith was born July 16, 1892, was a farmer and had lived at South Elm for 35 years. He was a member of the South Elm Baptist Church, the Yarrellton Masonic Lodge and the Woodmen of the World. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors are his widow; a half-brother, Edward Hess of Waco; an aunt, Mrs. Katie Byrd of Memphis, Tenn., and an uncle, Albert Smith of Springfield, Mo. The Cameron Herald, 20 Aug 1953

- Obituary: EULA LEE BAKER SOLOMON Cameron - Funeral services for Eula Lee Baker Solomon, 72, of Cameron, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2000 in Green-Patterson Funeral Home with Ministers Richard Harpole and Brad Bimwaugh officiating. Burial will follow in North Elm Cemetery. Mrs. Solomon died Monday, March 28 in a Temple hospital following an illness. She was born June 8, 1927 in the Marlow community near Cameron and was retired from the Milam County Tax Office where she worked for many years as chief deputy. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Crockett Street Church of Christ in Cameron. Survivors include her husband, Delmer Dee Solomon of Cameron; a stepson, Derek Ragene Solomon of Rosharon; a stepdaughter, Evelyn Quen Osborn of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
