- Obituary: HELEN MCFARLAND Helen McFarland, 86, of Temple died Saturday, April 28, in a Temple hospital. Graveside funeral services were held May 1 at the North Elm Cemetery near Cameron with Rev. Jim Lafferty officiating. Visitation was held Monday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Mrs. McFarland, a homemaker, was born Feb. 16, 1926 in Lubbock to Thomas and Annie (Dobbs) Richards. She married Earl McFarland and he preceded her in death in 1990. Her daughter, Charlotte Ann Wade also preceded her in death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by two sisters. Survivors include her son Douglas McFarland of Lott, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements. - Obituary: REBECCA SUE MOODY Rebecca Sue Moody, 43, of Belton and formerly of Cameron, died Feb. 3 in a Temple hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Feb. 6 at North Elm Cemetery near Cameron with Bro. Wayne Kirk officiating. Mrs. Moody was born Aug. 24, 1964 in Cameron to Clarence Ray and Anna (Arisman) Cummings. She married Cliff Moody Feb. 25, 1984. She was a member of Marlow Baptist Church and a life member of the V.F.W. - Obituary: BILLY SCARBOROUGH CAMERONâ€â€Funeral services for Billy Scarborough, 72, of Cameron were held Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. William Angell officiating. Burial followed in North Elm Cemetery. Mr. Scarborough died Saturday, Oct. 2, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born July 13, 1938, in Cameron to Wesley and Julia Brod Scarborough. Mr. Scarborough was retired from the Texas Department of Transportation where he worked for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Hollas; and a son, Jimmy Horton. Mr. Scarborough was a member of Open Door Christian Church. Survivors are his wife, Berniece Scarborough of Cameron; two sons, Clint Scarborough of Garland, Gary Scarborough of Cameron; and a daughter, Tammy Moehlman of Midlothian; also, six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. - Obituary: DELMER DEE SOLOMON CAMERONâ€â€Funeral services for Delmer Dee Solomon, 79, of Cameron w ill be held on at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel at Green- Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Harold Winslow officiating. Burial will follow at North Elm Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation was scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the funeral home. Mr. Solomon died Sunday, Nov. 8, at his home in Cameron after a short illness. He was born Sept. 22, 1930, in Burlington to L.H. and Geneva Solomon. Mr. Solomon served in the Army from 1948-1954 and was a Korean War veteran. He received the Korean Service Medal, the U.N. Service medal, the National Defense medal and 3 Bronze Stars. Mr. Solomon worked for the State Highway Department in Cameron from 1957 to 1967. He also worked for Alcoa from 1968 to 1998. From 1998 to present, Mr. Solomon enjoyed his farm in Cameron, his family and helping others. He was a member of Rogers Church of Christ. Mr. Solomon was preceded in death by his parents, L.H. and Geneva Solomon; a sister, Hazel Murff; two brothers, W. Cork Solomon and Clinton Solomon; his ex-wife, Minnie Erle Whittington; and his wife, Eula Baker Solomon. Survivors are son Ragene Solomon and wife Regina of Rosharon; granddaughters, A shley Hernandez and Chelsea Solomon; daughter Quen Osborn and husband Charles of West Texas; granddaughters Caitlan, Courtney and Carrah Osborn; sisters Frances Price of Cameron, Shirley Fisher of Teague, Jeannie Williams of Reno, Nevada, Dorothy Dav idson of Gause, Martha Krenek of Cameron and wife Janell Schubert Solomon of Little River.
