FLORENCE PAULINE FULLER
Funeral services for Florence Pauline Fuller, 78, were held at 12 noon Wednesday, April 13, in the Phillips & Luckey Chapel with burial in North Elm Cemetery near Cameron. Rev. Jack Gilliland of Meadowbrook Baptist Church officiated. Mrs. Fuller died Monday morning, April 11, in Manor Oaks Nursing Home. She had been a Rockdale resident for the past 53 years and had previously lived in Cameron and Houston.
She was born 8 Mar 1916, in Yarrellton to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Frank (Ida Louise Jones) Gibbs. She had been owner and operator of the Fabric Shop and House of Fine Fabrics and she and her husband owned and operated the A-1 Café until his death. For 18 years She was a secretary for attorney Leonard Allen.
She and James R. “DocÃ¢â‚¬ï† Fuller were married 13 April 1937, in Cameron.
Mrs. Fuller was preceded in death by her husband, James R. “DocÃ¢â‚¬ï† Fuller on 11 Feb. 1966; her parents, Joe and Ida Gibbs; three brothers, Herman, Jesse and Milton Gibbs; and three sisters, Murtis Bostic, Maysell Blazek and Josephine Horton Thompson.
Survivors include a son, Mike Fuller of Baytown; three daughters, Gayle Boggess of Laguna Niguel, CA, Jerianne Evans of Houston and Becky Stephenson of Fairfield; a sister, Ethel Gilbert of Baytown; also seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were past and present deacons of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, John Ballard, Dick Burns, Frank Burrough, Travis Grindle, Glenn Hodges, Robert Moore and David White. Mrs. Fuller had been a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church since the early 1950s and served as church clerk for many years until her retirement. She attended school in Yarrellton and graduated from Yoe High in Cameron.
