- Obituary: SERVICES HELD HERE FOR RUFUS HURRY, 77 Rufus F. Hurry, 77, of 402 South Strause St., Robinson, Texas, died early Saturday at his home. Justice of Peace John Cabiniss ruled the death was from natural causes. He was born October 26, 1889 in Freestone County and lived in Milam County in the North Elm Community most of his life. He moved to Robinson three years ago. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. Monday in the Chapel of Greens Funeral Home, Cameron. Rev. Olin Waldrip officiated. Burial was in North Elm Cemetery. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Audrey Griffin, Robinson; three sons, Troy Hurry, Waco, Leland Hurry, Lake Jackson, Boyd Hurry, Garland; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Williams, Austin, Mrs. Hattie Gibson, Houston, Mrs. Jennie Rice, Cameron; also 8 grandchildren. - Obituary: AUBREY IRBY Aubrey Irby, 62, of Cameron and formerly of Rockdale, died Sunday morning in a Houston hospital. He had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Irby was a clerk in the Alcoa plant at Rockdale and was employed by Hughes Tool Co until 18 years ago. He was a member of Rockdale Lodge 414, AF & AM, the Ben Hur Shrine Temple of Austin and the First Baptist Church of Cameron. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Funeral was at 2 p. m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, the Rev. J. E. Lafferty officiating. Burial was in North Elm Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Irby; a son, Douglas Irby of Houston; two stepsons, Dennis Jones of Waco and Allen Jones of Cameron; a step-daughter, Mrs. Marianne Swann of Arlington; a brother, Elmer Irby of Buna; a half brother, Perry H. - Obituary: MRS. ANNIE MAE (BAILEY) JACKSON Friends and relatives were shocked at the sudden, untimely death of Mrs. Jackson who passed away March 21. Her girlhood was spent in the North Elm community, where a host of friends mourn her passing. She was married August 28, 1927 to Ray Jackson of Copperas Cove, Texas. To this union two children were born, Verna Mae, age 6 and Ray, Jr., age 2. Mrs. Jackson became a Christian in early childhood. She was a devoted wife and mother, her Christian influence will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held from the North Elm Baptist church, March 22, Rev. P. L. Caperton officiating. She was laid to rest in the North Elm cemetery. Active pall bearers were: Sam Clark, Sam Houston, R. Hurry, Ed Angel, Carl Phips and Ewell Russell. She is survived by her husband and two children, her parents Mr. and Mrs. E. Bailey, two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Lehnert and Mrs. Allen Dodson, five brothers, Claud, Joe, Allen, James and Lee. CARD OF THANKS We are grateful to our friends and neighbors for their kindness and assistance during the recent illness and at the death of our beloved wife, mother and sister, Annie Mae Jackson. Mr. Johnson died Tuesday night in a Temple hospital following a short illness. He was a member of the South Elm Baptist Church, A. F. and A. M. #170 Shriners of Austin, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry in Austin, and Ben Hur Temple of Austin. For the past 24 years, he was a business manager of the North Elm Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Jessie Johnson of Burlington; a foster daughter, Imogene Eickenhorst of Burlington; a brother, Roy Johnson of Cleburne; and two sisters, Rev.
