- Obituary: CHARLES BROOK EICKENHORST JR. Charles Brook Eickenhorst Jr., 73, of San Angelo died Aug. 9 in a local hospital. Memorial services were held Aug. 12 at Grape Creek Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. in the North Elm Cemetery. Eickenhorst was born on Aug. 14, 1934 in Cameron to Charles Brook Sr. and Maudie Mae Eickenhorst. He retired after 26 years from Santa Fe Railroad. Survivors include his children, Gina Thorp and husband, Robert, of Mertson, Lisa Rowoldt and husband, David, of San Angelo, Charles "Chuck" Eickenhorst Jr. and wife, Valerie, of Pauls Valley, Okla. and Vicki Leazenby of Norman, Okla.; one sister, Doris Raeke of Austin; 14 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. - Obituary: BETTYE LOU GIBBS ERMIS CAMERONâ€â€Funeral services for Bettye Lou Ermis, 71, of Cameron were held Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Gary Maroney officiating. Burial followed in North Elm Cemetery near Yarrellton. Mrs. Ermis died Tuesday, Jan. 19, in a Cameron nursing facility. She was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Cameron to William C. and Elsie Ray (Fuller) Gibbs. She married Flirsh Ermis on Oct. 18, 1957, and he preceded her in death in 2006. Mrs. Ermis worked as a Jailer for Milam County for many years. She served as vice president of North Elm Cemetery Association for many years and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Ermis was also active with the Milam County Museum. Survivors are a son, Steven Ermis of Temple; three daughters, Deborah Gain of Sparks, Nevada, Marilyn Ulicnik of Cameron, Carol Beth Ermis of Bryan; and a special friend, Bill Shelander of Cameron; also, 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. - Obituary: ELBY GLENN FIKES Memorial services for Elby Glenn Fikes, age 75 of Oregon and formerly of Cameron, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Pastor Brett Bird officiating. His cremains will be interred following the service at North Elm Cemetery near Cameron. Mr. Fikes died Monday, Dec. 5th at the home of his daughter in Oregon. He was born in Cameron, the son of Charles Raymond and Minnie Lee Fikes. Two brothers, Stanley and Robert Fikes preceded him in death. Survivors include daughters Donna Yvette Fikes McLeary and husband Phillip and Lisa Renae Fikes DeLong and husband Jeff; three grandsons, Brett Bird, Nicholas Fikes and Austin Alderete; and one great grandson, Jackson Bird. - Obituary: MARION FRANKLIN FINNEY JR. Marion Franklin Finney Jr., 70, of Wichita Mountain Estates north of Lawton, Okla. and formerly of the Milano area, died Oct.2 at his home. Graveside funeral services will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the North Elm Cemetery near Cameron. Finney was born Feb. 12, 1935 in Bell County to Marion F. Finney Sr. and Verna (Thomas) Finney and graduated from Milano High School.. He married Patsy VanZandt, divorced, then married Joann Payer and she preceded him in death. He later married Scottie Jean Lynch Jan. 16, 1987 in Montague County. He worked at several service stations in Texas and then worked for Penrod Oil Company as a driller and yard supervisor. He made his home in the Elgin and Lawton, Okla. area. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Elgin Lodge, a member of the Church of Christ and was a classic car enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Scottie; daughters, Debra Streicher of Cameron; Rebecca Daniels of Ft. Worth and Julia Finney of Lawton; sons, Christopher Finney of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Patrick Finney of Manitou, Okla.; step-daughter, Brenda Sue Nease of Lawton; step-sons, Rory Zane Miller of California; Michael Wayne Miller of Elgin, Okla. and Richard Scott Miller of Marlow, Okla.; sister, Mary Ehrhardt of Spring; four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren The Cameron Herald, 6 Oct 2005
