• Obituary: MRS. BERTHA MARTIN Mrs. Bertha Martin, 81, formerly of Temple, died Monday in Texas City following a long illness. Funeral was at 2 p. m. Thursday in the chapel of Green Funeral Home in Cameron with burial in the North Elm Cemetery. Surviving are one son, Elmer L. Martin of Texas City; five daughters, Mrs. Mannie Houston of La Marque, Mrs. Willie Reynolds of San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. Rae Coley of Temple, Mrs. Millie Armstrong of Texas City, and Mrs. Myrtis Vann of Waco; two brothers, Bob Matthews of Cameron, Lee Matthews of Buckholts; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. • Obituary: DEWITT MARTIN DIES IN ACCIDENT THURSDAY DeWitt Martin was accidentally killed in Pine Bluff late Thursday. He was employed by a power company. Funeral services are to be held in Buckholts. Mr. Martin was a former resident of the Buckholts community, living there until a few years ago when he moved to Pine Bluff. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 4 oclock at the North Elm church with Revs. P. L. Caperton and John W. Mills officiating. Interment will be made in the North Elm Cemetery, with the Green Funeral Home directing arrangements. The body arrived in Cameron early Friday morning and was taken to the home of Oscar Smith at Buckholts. He is survived by his widow and children. The Cameron Herald, 6 Jun 1940
