- Obituary: ROBERT BLACK Robert Black, 70, of Cameron died Feb. 19 in a Temple hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Feb. 22 at North Elm Cemetery near Cameron. Black, a retired boilermaker in the construction industry, was born July 16, 1934 in Jasper County to Louis Wilson and Mae (Lamb) Black. He was a Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Moore, and a brother, Jack Black. Survivors include his wife, Joy Black of Cameron; stepchildren, Steve Kirk and wife, Kathy; Vicki Henson; Mike Kirk and wife, Judy; all of Cameron, and Karen McCoy and husband, Kevin, of Thorndale; brother, Wilson Black and wife, Elaine, of Baytown; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. - Obituary: Barbee Barrett Barbee Barrett, 98, of Cameron, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, in a Cameron nursing facility. Graveside services will be 11 a. m. Monday, Sept. 15 at North Elm Cemetery with Rev. James T. Wheeless officiating. Mr. Barrett, a lifelong rancher and farmer, was born March 7, 1916 in Milam County to Coley and Jennie (Polley) Barrett. He married Florine Fuchs in 1939 and she preceded him in death in 2013. He was a lifelong Baptist having had memberships at the Yarrellton Baptist Church and then the First Baptist Church in Cameron. He had been a member of San Andres Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. Two brothers, Ed and John also preceded him in death. He is survived by son, Norvell Barrett of Houston, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Horton was born Aug. 5, 1960 in Rockdale to James Henry Horton Sr. and Berniece McGoldrick Scarborough. He was a member of the First Christian Church and owned and operated JH Concrete Construction. Survivors include his parents, Billy and Berniece Scarborough of Cameron; daughter, Lindsey Horton of Temple; brothers, Clint Scarborough of Dallas and Gary Scarborough of Cameron and sisters, Tammy Moehlman of Midlothian and Deanna Robertson of Lexington.
